I qualified from St Marys Hospital Medical School, having made the decision to study medicine at the age of 6.
I completed my general practice training in London and hold diplomas in child health and obstetrics and gynaecology. I hold the Membership of the Royal College of general Practitioners.
For the last 25 years I have been a partner in a busy NHS practice in North London and in parallel have developed a flourishing private practice bringing the excellence of my NHS knowledge to the private sector. My practice is based at the Platinum Medical Centre, the “state of the art” out-patient centre of the Wellington Hospital in St John’s Wood, London, where I see clients of every age. The Wellington is the largest private hospital in the UK and I can offer instant referrals to numerous specialists on-site.
I pride myself on having a unique style with my patients. Any problem however small is important and it is by listening to my patients carefully, that I can pick up that vital piece of the history that can lead to a diagnosis.
A GP has to be a jack of all trades and realise when to refer on for further care. Over the years I have developed a wide personal network of specialists who are available at the end of the phone for advice.
Within general practice my special interests are diabetes, hypertension, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, chronic disease management and mental health.
As a partner in an NHS practice I undergo a rigorous annual appraisal which now includes feedback from both patients and colleagues. Patient feedback can be found on a site called Doctify. Post graduate education is very important to me in order to keep up to date with the latest developments in medicine.
I have recently been elected to serve on the Medical Advisory Committee of The Wellington Hospital and in addition I am a Trustee of The Eve Appeal, a charity which funds both research and awareness in to the 5 gynaecological cancers.
I am married with two children and live locally. Outside medicine my special interests are music and travel. I also speak and can consult in French.
