I undertook my undergraduate medical training at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee, graduating in 1995. I was also awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Science. I continued my training at the University of Exeter, where I completed my General Practice qualifications, becoming a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 1999. Since then I have been a practising GP and joined Hillview Surgery, in Perivale, North West London, as a partner in 2002. I play an active role in practice management, including mentoring the nursing team and leading the practice on HR related matters.
My special interests are women’s gynaecological problems and Family Planning, having completed post-graduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (1998) and Diploma in Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (1997). I am able to offer contraceptive services which include coil insertion and removal, contraceptive implant insertion and removal as well as advising on all forms of contraception and fertility.
I have always been interested in family medicine as I value the personal/ individual care of my patients and their families. Physical and emotional well-being is paramount to the health of a person. Hence I believe in a holistic approach and continuity of care. I enjoy all aspects of medicine in general practice including dermatology, women’s health and supporting the challenges facing the children and teenagers today.
My motivation to join Concierge service stems from the belief that General Practice is about the whole person. I hope to develop a deeper relationship with the Concierge patients. Concierge offers the opportunity to develop an understanding of the person and to support them over a long period. Of course, having that understanding will only help if a situation arises that require on-going attention.
